PLAN YOUR VISIT

Affectionately known as “the Heart of Hermanus”, Hermanus Waterfront boasts a vast selection of more than 40 shops and restaurants located in the heart of the old Fisherman’s Village just above the Old Harbour, Hermanus.  In fact, some of the old fisherman’s cottages still stand on the piazza and are now declared heritage sites with original brickwork and walls are now home to cozy and intimate restaurants. Hermanus Waterfront is within close proximity to famous tourist attractions such as excursion tours (Marine Big 5 Safari and Cage Shark Diving), the Hemel-en-Aarde wine valley (which aptly means “Heaven on Earth” in the Afrikaans language) and the many art sculptures you can find along Gearings Point, showcasing the talent of local South African artists.

FEEL AT HOME

One reason why Hermanus Waterfront is the hot spot in town to which everyone gravitates is the open-air waterfront piazza where outside tables and colorful umbrellas provide the ideal meeting place for locals and tourists alike. Entertainment on the piazza can be enjoyed such as live local bands, our resident clown and a panoramic Selfie Frame overlooking the views of Walker Bay. In front of the piazza is the open-air auditorium with its kiddies play park, which means that it is also the focal point of the many festivals and special events that take place in Hermanus during the year, including the hugely popular annual Whale Festival when the whole area is transformed into a festive playground.
